Amanda + Greyson { engaged! }

After talking with Amanda and Greyson about their wedding, their lives and their creative style, we came up with a vision for their engagement session.  It would involve a chill modern loungy vibe, transitioning into a fab retro feel with a whole lotta sauciness.  With the help of a few friends I found the perfect location, and she completed the vision with a hot little red dress named “Miss Mary Mack’s Day Out”.  Perfection?  I think so!

Amanda is crazy-pretty!  Look at those EYES!  Seriously!

And Greyson, totally handsome!

Quick wardrobe change, and we were off to location #2!  Fabulosity!

I don’t know about you, but I’m already loving 2010!  I’m excited about this year’s weddings, as well as keeping in touch with past clients. I have a contest coming up that I’m over the moon excited for!  More on that in a bit….

But first just a few announcements.  For the second year in a row, K. Holly Photography has received a Bride’s Choice Award from Wedding Wire!  The WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Awards ™ recognizes the top local wedding professionals from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellence in quality, service, responsiveness, and professionalism.  Very exciting!

K. Holly has also recently been featured in online blogs such as Emmaline Bride,  Sienna Wedding, Wedding Daily Times, and Landlocked Bride as a preferred wedding vendor.  I’m proud to be part of their network, I love their style and dedication to uniqueness! Check out their sites for all things pretty, handmade and inspiring!  In addition, K. Holly continues to be a member in good standing of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI).  I’m wicked excited to be attending WPPI’s big convention & classes again this year!  Woot!

I’m also in the process of updating the blog and website with my newest work, so you’ll start to see little changes as I get it all up to speed.  One thing I just added is a section with Samples of Wedding Albums.  If you have already, or are considering adding an album to your wedding photography collection, definitely take a peek at the gallery and get inspired!  A couture wedding album is the perfect way to display and share your favorite wedding images!

Lastly, I’ll be blogging a bit more this year with tips, suggestions, and other wedding-related info, so definitely check back often!  I’m also going to be working a few more personal projects, and you know I’ll be sharing with you!  One thing in particular I’m excited for is being part of a photoshoot that will be benefitting Habitat for Humanity and other charities.  I’m thinking big this year, bigger than me, bigger than any of us, seeing what I can do to make a difference.  I’m excited for this year, it’s going to be a great one.  Thanks for being here with me!  Cheers!

Katie + Luke { married! }

Katie and Luke were married on a gorgeous, snowy wintery day.  When I saw the snow falling down that morning, I looked up to the sky with a huge smile, with gratitude and happiness.  It was going to be a beautiful day, I could already feel it.  They had a great lineup of vendors, all who did an amazing job. Not to mention, all the hard work and hours put in by Katie, Luke, and their families.  They did the invitations, table numbers, and all paper details themselves, and the amazing ceremony arch, which you’ll see in a bit, was made by Katie’s dad from trees from their land. I just love all of their wintery, woodsy, yet unmistakably glam details.  Their ceremony was held at Dimnent Memorial Chapel on the campus of Hope College in Holland, reception was at Harbourfront Grand Hall in Grand Haven. Katie’s bouquet and the rest of the gorgeous flowers were done by Ludemas. Love!

The girls got their hair done at Panopoulos Salon in Holland

Katie had her makeup done by the lovely and talented Julie Strating.

Tip for brides with all those lovely little buttons: crochet hook!  We used these on my dress too  :)

And the moment when a bride really feels like a bride: the veil.

For their First Look, Katie walked down the aisle to Luke.  One of my favorite moments of the day, and it is so easy to see why.  ::swoon!::

We braved the outdoors for some romantic, snowy shots.  Well, THEY braved the cold.  I was wearing a sweaterdress, cozy tights & boots!  But the light, the snowflakes… ah, SO worth it!

I can’t get enough of her bouquet, seriously!

I love a dramatic veil!

Let’s get the rest of the bridal party out here!  Such a fun, great-looking group!  The deep purple tea-length dresses were a perfect choice, along with the vintagey pendant necklaces and peep-toe pumps. Fabulous!

The guys were well-accessorized as well!  Diggin’ the socks, men!

I took just a couple more photos of Katie, just before she walked down the aisle ~

One of everyone’s favorite moments of the day – Luke played the piano during the ceremony. So romantic!

Sparkler sendoff!!  <3

Lovely little white cake by Connie’s Cakes.  And again, those beautiful flowers from Ludemas!  Music provided by Ryan Shine of Top 5 Entertainment.

All the candles, twigs, and paper details came together so beautifully for a warm, inviting reception

Each table had a different number, each with a story.  Very cool!

I loved this for the seating chart!

{ 1.23.10 }

Katelyn and Doug were married yesterday!  They chose an incredible venue and phenomenal vendors for their wedding day, and then infused the details with elegance and creativity.  I can’t wait to show you the rest of this wedding, it was gorgeous!

I’m crazy over this one of Katelyn!  I had mentioned something about putting her in the window, never thinking it would actually happen.  She got a little glimmer in her eye, and said she’d do it!  The groomsmen helped her up, and my heart about jumped out of my chest!  Happiness!

Congratulations Katelyn & Doug!

Allison Marie - WOW, the one of her in the window is STUNNING!!! Unbelievable work!
