A few weeks ago, I met Laura from Le Jour Parfait out for coffee. As a wedding photographer, I like to get to know other vendors, and Laura is a wedding & event planner in Kalamazoo. We started out chatting about weddings, how each of us got started in the business, and where we are headed in the future. Soon, our conversation turned towards identity and branding, and she confessed that she’d been considering a name change. Clients and other vendors were often unsure of how to pronounce her business name. Le Jour Parfait translates to “the perfect day”. It was a wonderful idea, but since not many people speak French, it just wasn’t working. She had been thinking of simplifying her identity to simply “White Dress Events”. I immediately fell in love with the name and my mind started racing with logo ideas. My inner graphic designer was itching to get the ideas out, so I quickly sketched out what I had in mind. Laura loved it, and told me to go ahead and design a few concepts for her. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been fine-tuning the fonts, colors and overall feel. I love what we ended up with! I think it’s perfect and representative of her personality – she’s young & modern, refined, professional and friendly. I wish her the best of luck with her business, I just know she’s going to do well! She just launched her fabulous new website and blog with the new look. Laura, congratulations on the change, and thank you for the opportunity to help you along the way!
