Hello and welcome to the K. Holly Photography Blog! I'm so glad you're here! ((hugs!)) I'm Kristen Holly Carlson, a Wedding & Lifestyle Photographer based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is my photo blog, continuously updated with my most recent weddings and sessions, along with a few personal stories and a behind the scenes look at what I do. Check back often!

Lauren + Josh {married!}

I just love couples that can be themselves, and do their wedding THEIR way. Lauren and Josh are totally it. They’re fun, they’re cute, they’re sassy, they let themselves be goofy, and they’re SO. IN. LOVE.

They were married last weekend in Battle Creek, on THE most gorgeous day we’ve had! It was about 75 degrees of pure bliss! We had sunshine, warmth, love, and even cool clouds in the sky :)

As Lauren walked down the aisle in her beautiful organza gown, Josh just melted. And so did everyone else <3

They smiled at each other during the ceremony, and he got choked up during the vows. (My eyes are tearing up as I’m writing!) He is #1 on my sweetest grooms list. After the vows were said and they were pronounced Mr and Mrs, they lightened up the mood with a high-five and then *the kiss*!

Wedding Parties that jump…. Rock my World! These guys weren’t messin’ around!

The reception details were awesome – I just love black & white damask, and the aqua touches made it so modern and fresh!

They even had a candy buffet – bonus! :)

The cake was absolutely gorgeous… and delicious! If you want to see the happiest photographer ever – just give me a slice of wedding cake :)

This shot…. totally accidental, totally awesome. Someone else’s flash went off behind a tree that was by the cake table, making this crazy pattern on the wall and lighting up their profiles. So cool! I love how it adds a whole new dimension to the white wall behind them. Sweet!

The first dance… coolest one I’ve EVER seen. Like EVER. They started with a sweet, slow love song. All good. Then the music changed, and they went into this whole dance routine montage. I don’t even know how many song snippets they had in there, but it included everything from the cheesy to the awesome. Have I mentioned how cool these guys are? Seriously. So cool.

Congratulations again, Lauren and Josh! Your wedding was incredible – you had everyone going from tears of joy and emotion to tears of laughter. You are so great together, and I am SO very happy for you. Many many wonderful years ahead! :)k

kelly - I get married in 10 days & these are the exact colors of my wedding ! It was beautiful! I hope mine comes out half as nice.

Kelli - Kristen, these are ABSOLUTELY fabulous! And in such a short time! My husband’s niece was married early Oct’08 and just got her proofs in March and I have to say, aren’t nearly as GREAT! Josh and Lauren, you ARE beautiful!

Lis (Lauren’s Sister) - These look AMAZING!! Your style reminds me a lot of Scarlett Lillian (who is my inspiration!), do you know her? She was at WPPI as Trendy Camera Straps’ spokesperson. When I saw you wearing a trendy camera strap I instantly knew these were going to be good! It was awesome meeting you, and thanks so much for making Lauren and Josh’s day forever memorable!

Christina - That was a gorgeous day! Congrats to them!

Regina - Totally lovin the detail shots. The punch of color with the balck and white is great. They look like they had a fab time. These are great Kristen, but that isn’t a surprise.

Heather - what a fun and sweet couple! beautiful job, Kristen!

Jenn - It was a gorgeous day for a gorgeous couple to get married! Great job! I was getting teary eyed reading about the couple and then seeing the love between them…wow!! The cake picture is a fav!!

Rose - Jumping pictures are ALWAYS hilarious! Love them! The detail shots are fab! Love LOVE black, white, and blue! Great job Kristen!
