~ { part one } ~
Well, I’ve never done this before. I’m splitting Matt and Allison’s wedding into two parts, two separate blog posts. I love all of my couples, every one of them has been absolutely amazing and wonderful and unforgettable. (Love you!!) Matt and Allison planned a unique wedding day – they were married in the early afternoon and had an intimate reception following that only lasted until the later afternoon. This gave us a unique opportunity to go out and do a longer bridal party and bride/groom session after everything was done. After our session, they headed off to their honeymoon! Such an incredible day, I felt so blessed to be involved!
You might recognize that Allison is the lovely bride who is currently gracing the top of the blog in her saucy cage veil. You may also remember Allison and Matt from their engagement session, where I wrote about how we met randomly in Traverse City at a scenic overlook, the day after Matt had proposed. I believe in fate, and I believe in things being destined. I fell in love with this couple, their families, and their story. Our styles matched up perfectly, and we worked so easily together. They were truly a dream to photograph. So without further adieu, part one of Matt and Allison’s wedding day, the getting ready, the ceremony, and the reception. Everything took place at Louis Benton downtown Grand Rapids.
Allison’s style is flawless. Vintage elegance ~

Right before the ceremony, Allison chose a tie for Matt. I loved that :)

How cute is he? I love this picture!

From here on out, I’m pretty much just going to focus on the bride and the ladies. Why? Because this is what guys do for their “getting ready” time, haha ;)

Natalie from Stems Event Design came by personally to deliver the bouquets. They were SO gorgeous!

It’s dress time!!

Cage Veil!!! I think I gasped when she put it on. Love!!

We did separate family formals, and then had extra time… YES extra time! I love when the timeline is loose and manageable, it makes everyone so much more relaxed, including me. I was able to chill, breathe, and be inspired…

Every time I told her how gorgeous she was, she’d do this, which is even cuter!~

Meee-ow! She SO has that Old Hollywood Glam thing going on. I’m loving it!

Seriously!

I think I died and went to photographer heaven. I do.

Okay, back on task. It’s time to get married!!

{ married! }

Gorgeous details, all in fall colors and textures. And you can’t go wrong with a candy buffet! Supercute prescription bottles, “RX for Love”

Yummy cupcakes, and cute little love birds that made my heart melt!

Amazing toasts ~

Matt’s Best Man said something in his speech about how Allison holds the only key to Matt’s heart, and then announced that if anyone else holds a key, this would be the time to turn them in. And they DID. They arranged this without the couple knowing, and a whole bunch of the guests came up, one by one, and placed a key on the table. It was AWESOME. <3

So very happy for you two, congratulations again! More soon! xoxo :) k
